What size/weight of light can fit on top of the Sublim8?

In addition to being an all-in-one column speaker system, the Sublim8 also doubles as a lighting tower, complete with a PowerCON True1 power output on top of the unit.  This was designed to simplify the setup of many production companies and mobile DJs who often bring a truss tower for a moving head in addition to their speakers. This article contains information on types of lighting fixtures that can be placed on top of the Sublim8's tower section.
  1. The space for mounting a light on top of the Sublim8 is 9" x 7.25" (though technically only the feet need to fit, as the lip on top is small, and most lights with rubber feet would have a base that is above the lip on top). There are also included eyebolts for securing the fixture to the top of the unit, though those can be removed if needed.
  2. There is a PowerCON True1 connector that sits towards the back of the top section that was designed to be "out of the way" of most lights, but this could cause an issue on certain lights that say, have three feet
  3. If using an ADJ Focus Spot 4Z, the light would actually sit sideways (so the connectors are facing the rear of the Sublim8 and the power can go directly into the connector)
  4. We are making a solution that attaches to the top of the unit making it easier to mount a light to (that would extend the "effective size" of lighting fixture beyond the 9"x7.25" rectangle). We were hoping to have those at NAMM to display but the samples were not ready in time.  We will have more info on these soon.
  5. While there technically isn't a "weight limit" for the lighting fixture (since most lights will exert downward pressure), we recommend staying under 50lbs. Most lights that have a single mount point that are under 30lbs, and to be honest a 45lb light may look odd up on the smaller tower, so 30-35lbs is a recommended maximum all things considered.
