Q: I see that the ZV28 has feet on the side. Why doesn't the SSP218 cabinet have feet on the side?
A: The SSP218 cabinet has been in production since 2008, and was designed for large scale production work. There were design decisions that were made that precluded the use feet on the side.
The addition of feet on the ends would make the cabinet less stable when standing on end because, due to the location of the baffle, the feet cannot be at the very front of the cabinet. In addition, the feet can’t be at the edges either, making the footprint even smaller.
The addition of feet on the ends would make the overall dimensions of the cabinet larger and the design was for truck pack size.
The ZV28 has feet because the cabinet is bigger and remains stable on those feet.
Using a small piece of carpet or rubber mat protects the cabinets better than the feet, and is an alternate option if the cabinet needs to be used on its side.
