MK3 Cabinets Not Recognized in ControlBASS

If your MK3 Cabinets are not recognized in ControlBASS:

Check whether the LAN Link LED is lit. If the LAN link LED is not lit, possible causes for a lack of connection are:

The physical connection is bad due to a dirty or damaged connector, Check the condition of the cable ends and the sockets. Clean them if necessary. (Try both sockets in the cabinet)  Try a different cable.

If cleaning the connectors and/or trying a different cable do not allow the LAN link LED to engage, there is the possibility that electronics in the input board may have been damaged or have failed. This is highly unusual but, if all other possibilities have been exhausted, this is the last remaining option.

If the LAN Link LED is lit, and the cabinet isn’t immediately recognized by ControlBASS, it’s likely due to some kind of IP address conflict. To clear the conflict, try the following steps:

If you’re connected directly and not through a router, try turning off your PC’s wifi so your computer isn’t defaulting to the wifi connection for all network traffic. You can also check that the computer is recognizing and using the wired connection. Also check that your computer is operating in DHCP mode.

Close and re-open the ControlBASS software. Opening the software re-initializes the search for connected equipment.

Power-cycle the cabinet and then re-start the software. Power-cycling should cause the DSP to reset its IP address, allowing the computer to create a new IP for the cabinet.

If none of the above works, re-boot the computer, then try to establish the connection. Usually re-booting the computer and the cabinet will clear any IP address conflicts and the connection should be possible.

If the direct connection isn’t able to be made after checking all the above, try connecting the cabinet to a router via an ethernet cable and connect the laptop/PC to the router via cable or wifi. The router will operate on a different IP range and the router will create and assign new IP addresses to both the cabinet and the PC.
