Installing a Replacement Diaphragm
What you will need
- Philips-head screwdriver
- H3 (3mm) Hex Tool
- H5 (5mm) Hex Tool
Steps
Use a Philips-head screwdriver to remove the grille screws; set the grille to the side

Use an H5 (5mm) Hex Tool to remove the driver bolts and gently lift the driver from the cabinet

Disconnect the wiring harness from the speaker terminals by pressing down on the push tabs and gently removing the wires

Use an H3 (3mm) Hex Tool to remove the diaphragm screws on the rear of the driver

Remove the faulty diaphragm and GENTLY place the replacement diaphragm in its place, aligning the screw holes and coil

With the new diaphragm in place, screw in the four screws back in and screw them in with the H3 tool

Reattach the wiring harness to the driver's terminals, pressing down on the push tab and reinserting the wire into the hole. Ensure the tab clamps down on the wire (and not the insulation) For woofers (lower frequencies), the red wire will connect to the red terminal and the black wire will connect to the black terminal. For tweeters (higher frequencies), the white wire is placed in the red terminal and the green wire is placed in the black terminal
Reinstall the driver and grille using the screws/bolts you removed in steps 1-2
